He studied medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where he graduated in 1982.

In 1982 by opposition he entered the Instituto Dexeus of Barcelona where he was a resident Doctor specializing in obstetrics and gynecology.

He was part of the Obstetrics and Gynecology service of Instituto Dexeus until 1990, actively participating in the Human Reproduction Unit, attending in 1984 first baby born by in vitro fertilization techniques in Spain.

In 1990 he moved to Galicia and was responsible for creating the first in vitro fertilization laboratory in Vigo (CMP) where the first baby was born by IVF in 1991 and where he remained until 2003.

In 2003 he moved back to Barcelona as a partner and Director of the Assisted Reproduction of Instituto Marques del Valles in Sabadell, and as head of the Department of Image and Marketing of the Marques Group, positions he held until July 2010.

During 2004-2006 he also formed part of the Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) of the Teknon Assisted Reproduction Clinic in Barcelona.

He founded the first sperm bank (Biosperm) in Sabadell, and was coordinator of the Institut Marques egg and sperm donor campaigns.

He is a Member of the Center for Embryo Medicine (CEM) and coauthor of the first national study on semen quality in young Spanish (2007) by more than fifty Assisted Reproduction centers throughout Spain www.hoynotelopongas.com.
He is a member of the Spanish Fertility Society (SEF) since 1990; he has accumulated extensive experience in the field of Reproductive Medicine, has authored several scientific papers and is active in conferences and scientific meetings on Assisted Human Reproduction.
