Its founder, Dr. José Ignacio Barraquer Moner is considered one of the best ophthalmologists of the XXth century for his contribution on novel ophthalmological surgical techniques and the design of surgical devices, mainly for anterior segment and refractive surgery; therefore, he is best known as the father of refractive surgery and the clinic as a worldwide scientific reference point.

OPHTHALMOLOGY OUTPATIENT CLINIC
Ophthalmologists provide a diagnosis, indicate treatment, follow up the medical condition and give the recommendations needed to improve your visual health. Their scientific concept relies on an academic formation in sub specialties and on a renowned experience in performing invasive procedures, non-invasive treatments and ophthalmic procedures.

OPTOMETRY OUTPATIENT CLINIC
Optometrists measure visual acuity, detect refractive defects which manifest through blurred vision, perform the required measurements for the ophthalmologist to make surgical decisions and for determining the adequate kind of optical correction through eyeglasses or contact lenses (gas permeable, hydrophilic (soft), therapeutic or prosthetic).

SURGERY
Surgical treatments for: refractive errors (Lasik, Lasek, phakic lenses), cataracts, keratoconus (intracorneal rings, collagen cross-linking, corneal transplants endothelial, lamellar and deep lamellar), retinal detachment, vitreous hemorrhage, pterygium, conjunctival tumors, drooping of the eyelid (ptosis), orbital reconstruction, lachrymal duct canalization and reconstruction, glaucoma, strabismus and other conditions of the visual system. Most surgical procedures are ambulatory.
