Tips for Naturally Whiter Teeth

| January 10th, 2012

Teeth whitening is a popular cosmetic dental care treatment, but it can cause side effects like tooth sensitivity and even pain if overdone. To get white teeth naturally, it’s important to have good oral hygiene as a start.

“Health and beauty are intertwined,” says Arthur Glosman, D.D.S., a cosmetic dentist in Beverly Hills to the Huffington Post. “If something is healthy, it’s going to look beautiful. If it’s sick, no amount of white teeth is going to make it look good.”

As reported in the Huffington Post, here are a few other things you can do for a naturally whiter smile:

1. Eat crunchy fruits and vegetables. They’re like a natural toothbrush!
2. Floss daily to remove stains between the teeth.
3. Eat a small amount of cheese after meals to prevent tooth decay. The calcium in cheese also promotes healthy tooth enamel.
4. Try strawberries, which contrary to their red color, may promote whiter teeth.
