Miracle injection for weight loss, diabetes and cholesterol

By Brandie Umar - Executive Director of Content | July 16th, 2010

Within 3 years patients suffering from a high BMI could be treated with a simple injecton to aid weight loss, lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels and even cure diabetes. The 'miracle' drug helps people loose weight steadily over a period of time and retrain the brain to ensure weight loss is maintainable long-term.

A study conducted on 500 patients and presented to the International Congress on Obesity earlier this week found that over a period of 6 months patients were able to loose weight and develop a healthier relationship with food to prolong the weight loss benefits after stopping the injections.

The 'miracle' injection works based on appetite suppressing hormones and convinces patients of a feeling of fullness earlier meaning patients who take the injection regularly eat 20% less food. During the course of the injections, patients start to visually identify with the smaller amount of food as the correct size portion to satisfy themselves and therefore re-train their brain to recognize what is a healthy amount of food.

The study showed that patients who lost weight using the drug stimulus had reduced blood pressure, lower cholesterol levels and patients were also less likely to require treatment for diabetes but could manage and control diabetes through their diet.
