Kardashian Seeks Fertility Help

By Kai Colvin - Senior Medical Research Editor | June 27th, 2012

Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian has made the first steps of her fertility journey. After multiple failed attempts to conceive with husband, Lamar Odom, Khloe took arrived at the ART Reproductive Center in Beverly Hills.

Reportedly, Khloe gave blood samples in order for IVF doctors to evaluate her hormone levels and create a tailored IVF treatment approach.

Ten to 15 percent of couples in the United States are infertile. Infertility is demarcated as not being able to get pregnant despite having unprotected sex for at least one year.

With the ever aware increasing public eye on infertility today, more and more couples are seeking IVF treatment.

Reproductive Centers nationwide, such as ART Reproductive Center in Beverly Hills offer full diagnostic testing, encompassed by up-to-the-minute infertility treatments.  These infertility clinics deliver advanced care with a tailored touch.  As specialists in Reproductive Endocrinology, IVF specialists can arrive at a diagnosis and articulate a competent, current treatment method.

Advanced reproductive centers offer treatments such as in vitro fertilization (IVF), egg donation, intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), embryo and sperm cryopreservation, and preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD).

Female infertility cases are centered on polycystic ovarian disease, premature ovarian failure, recurrent pregnancy loss, endometriosis, premenstrual syndrome and complicated menopausal problems.

While Lamar and Khloe turn to fertility treatments in California, another famed couple is opening the door to a surrogate mother. Appearing on the Today Show, Giuliana Rancic blissfully poured out, “We are so thrilled that our prayers have been answered,” following a brave battle with breast cancer

Giuliana Rancic and husband Bill were apprehensive that medication and treatments following a lumpectomy and radiation therapy would further postpone their parenthood dreams. Surrogacy has given them hope and strengthened their bond.

Celebrity Couples and Surrogacy

  • Ricky Martin is the proud father of three year-old sons Matteo and Valentino using a surrogate.
  • Elton John and partner David Furnish welcomed home baby Zachary by way of surrogacy.
  • Sarah Jessica Parker's twin daughters Tabitha and Marion were born via surrogate.
  • Nicole Kidman's youngest daughter Faith entered the world through surrogacy.

With high successful pregnancy rates and advanced technologies of 2012, it seems the Kardashian circle is only going to expand.

While Khloe and Lamar optimistically await their first news of successful IVF treatment, you can keep up with the latest on ART and surrogacy.
