Migraine headaches are literally a huge pain, but learning how to identify what triggers these headaches can help you stop them from becoming severe and even prevent them from occurring in the first place.
According to Health Central, a few minor lifestyle changes can decrease the frequency and intensity of migraine headaches. Foods that are commonly associated with migraines should be avoided. These include, MSG, processed lunch meats, dried fruits, aged cheeses, and alcoholic beverages. Keeping a food diary can help you avoid the foods that cause your head to ache.
Eating regularly can also prevent migraines by keeping your blood sugar in check. Exercise is also helpful for reducing the occurrence of headaches and stress, but any physical activity should begin slowly, as sudden exercise is a common trigger. Some experts believe that dietary supplements can also ease migraine pain and occurrence. These include vitamin B2, magnesium, feverfew, fish oil and ginger.
