What is Thread Face Lift (Feather Face Lift)?

A thread facelift is a harmless, expedient alternative to the traditional facelift. Defined as less invasive, thread facelift or feather face lift can diminish sagging around the cheeks, jawline, and neck rapidly and with less risk than the orthodox method. Special threads are employed to unobtrusively hold relocated skin and tissue in position after surgery. Thread lifts generally produce evident results immediately without the inconveniences of more intensive procedures and are typically untraceable. Thread face lifts are frequently used to enhance sagging eyebrows, adjust asymmetric eyebrows, adds support to sagging cheeks and to lift loose tissue to the mid and lower face and neck.

A Good Candidate for Thread Face Lift (Feather Face Lift)

The best candidates for a thread facelifts are in their 30’s to 60’s and have relatively good skin tone and elasticity and are in the beginning stages of experiencing sagging in their face or neck. If marks of aging are moderately minimal, a thread face lift will give you a cosmetic enhancement while eliminating scarring and other potential side effects, which can transpire after more harsh surgical procedures.
In general, the thread face lift is intended for both women and men who want a better and further lasting effect that fillers and Botox does not provide, but do not want to experience a complete face lift.

Thread Face Lift (Feather Face Lift) Procedure

A thread face lift, or feather face lift begins with the cosmetic surgeon inserting thin threads into the face by way of small incisions made in the targeted area. Using a hollow needle, feather resembling threads are located under the skin beginning at the cheekbone.

The threads are attached to the skin tissue and drawn into position by lifting the skin. Immediately following the procedure, treated areas will be up-stretched slightly, eliminating sagging and outlining a rejuvenated appearance. The threads are secured and become transparent within the skin, manifesting indistinguishable scarring results. Fresh collagen forms around each thread to sustain the lifted effect. The lowest thread count used for moderately sagging skin is four.
