A Good Candidate for Breast Implants (Breast Augmentation)

One major step in the breast augmentation process is your pre-surgical contemplation. It is crucial to think long and hard about the reasons for seeking breast augmentation and understanding the process to its full extent. Ask yourself, ‘What is breast augmentation and why do I want to get it?’ Here are some things to consider when deciding if you are a good candidate for breast augmentation:

What is my reason for breast implants (breast augmentation)?
In seeking perfection, we always want what we don’t have. There is no single reason why women get breast implants; whatever it may be it is crucial to think hard about the reasons behind such an operation. There are a number of reasons why women want to change their figure- health reasons, social influences, or just wanting to feel sexier. It is important to discuss in depth with reliable doctors each step of the procedure and understand the changes associated in order to determine if one is a good candidate for breast augmentation.

The most common reasons for undergoing breast augmentation surgery result from age, pregnancy, genetics, or merely dissatisfaction with one’s self. The following list some more specific, popular reasons for breast augmentation:

-Your breasts have lost their firmness and have become saggy with age
-Breast feeding has made your breasts droopy
-You have very small breasts and desire larger ones
-Your have asymmetrical breasts that differ in size
-Your proportions are not compatible so that you struggle with basic things like fitting into clothes

Breast Augmentation and Your Inner Self

While there are a number of reasons why women seek breast augmentations, it is important to note that physical alterations do not change who you are on the inside. Breast augmentation can certainly improve your confidence and make you feel better about your physical appearance, but your attitude towards yourself will not come from the surgery; you alone affect who you are on the inside.

Am I thinking realistically?
Women need to ensure they are thinking realistically before undergoing breast augmentation. A good candidate for breast augmentation understands exactly how the surgery will transform her appearance and holds realistic expectations of how she will feel about herself in the aftermath. Furthermore, a good candidate needs to be knowledgeable on preparing for breast augmentation as well as recovering from breast augmentation. Women with unrealistic expectations of breast augmentation surgery are not good candidates. Part of thinking realistically involves serious contemplation about the reasons behind the surgery, as stated above.

When NOT to have breast implants (breast augmentation)

There are a number of reasons why an individual should not undergo breast augmentation. The following are common reasons why breast augmentation is not a good solution:

-Those that live unhealthy lifestyles should not undergo breast augmentation. Breast augmentation is not a solution for an unhealthy lifestyle.

-Women receiving unwanted pressure from others should not jump directly to breast augmentation surgery as a solution.

-Teenagers are not good candidates for breast augmentation because their bodies are still developing. Most plastic surgeons want their patients for breast augmentation to be in their early 20s or older.

-Those who have not properly researched the surgical procedure as well as the risks and the side affects of breast augmentation are not good candidates. If you have not extensively familiarized yourself with how the procedure will affect you physically and mentally, breast augmentation is not for you.

Who is a good candidate for breast implants (breast augmentation)?

Good candidates for breast augmentation are emotionally secure adults and are physically ready to embrace the risks and side effects of breast augmentation.

A good candidate for breast augmentation should also be healthy. Eating a good diet and exercising regularly are important aspects of physical and mental health.

If you meet the criteria noted above, you may be a good candidate for breast augmentation.
