Thigh Lift

Everybody wants a perfectly toned pair of legs but muscle definition in thighs can be difficult to achieve with exercise alone. Plastic surgeons can help you target the area of your thighs you are unhappy with. Thigh lift surgery is a body surgery that reduces the size of your legs, smooths and contours un-toned thighs and removes excess skin.

A Good Candidate For Thigh Lift

If you have loose excess skin on the thighs, exercise is failing to give you the toned results you want and you want to remove fat from the upper leg, thigh lift surgery might be the plastic surgery option for you. People who have recently lost significant amounts of weight may be good candidates for a thigh lift. Regardless, good candidates should be in good overall health.

Thigh Lift Procedure

Thigh lift surgery, or thighplasty can be targeted at the upper thigh, inner thigh or the front outside of the thigh.

Upper thigh:  Medial Thigh Lift surgery targets the upper area of your thigh removing excess skin and fat. This surgery is normally performed on patients who have lost a large amount of weight and have been left with loose skin and fatty deposits.

Inner thigh
: The inner thigh is the most problematic area to tone and sculpt with exercise and diet alone. During an inner thigh lift surgeons remove excess fat and tighten skin.

Outer thigh
: Especially good for patients who have lost a lot of weight and have loose skin, a bilateral thigh lift tightens or removes skin from the outside of the thighs. This procedure targets the areas of the thigh - right and left front - that can be seen when standing.

Every thigh lift procedure is performed in the same way: An incision is made, excess skin and fat is removed and the skin is sutured tightly into position to create a smooth taut appearance.

The difference between the procedures is the area for the incision. An incision is made in the groin for a medial thigh lift. Inner thigh lifts are performed through an incision between the thigh and pubic area. Bilateral thigh lifts incisions are placed at the top of the leg. All incisions are made in areas that can be concealed underneath underwear.

Cost Of Thigh Lift

The cost of thigh lift surgery will depend on the type of procedure suitable for you, the location of your treatment and if thighplasty surgery is being combined with liposuction or another cosmetic surgery.
