Micro-Dermabrasion Defined

Micro-dermabrasion is a skin care treatment used to smooth wrinkles, acne scars and correct sun damage that has left skin blotchy. Micro-dermabrasion is a less intensive alternative to dermabrasion that is suitable for sensitive skin.

Micro-Dermabrasion Procedure

The area of skin will be cleaned and numbed using a local anesthetic. The dermatologist will then remove the outer layers of the patients skin. Micro-dermabrasion is performed by spraying small crystals onto the face to remove the dead skin. The skin and crystals are then removed using a small suction device. Both micro-dermabrasion and intensive dermabrasion stimulate the production of collagen within the skin to improve the  elasticity and firmness of the facial complexion.

Micro-Dermabrasion Results

Micro-dermabrasion will smooth your skin and leave it smoother and rejuvenated. The effects of sun damage, fine lines and acne scars will all appear reduced after micro-dermabrasion treatment. For perfect results more than one treatment may be required.

Micro-Dermabrasion Cost

The cost of micro-dermabrasion will depend on how many treatments are required to achieve the desired results and the location of your dermatologist.
