My son is 6 years old. He has enlarged adenoids and right ear hearing loss.
My son is 6 years old. He was detected with gross hearing loss 2 months back, in right ear and mild loss in left ear. Auditory tests (done thrice till now) reveals this. He also has swollen andenoid gland. One doctor suggested for adenoidectomy and insertion of tubes in the ears, while another doctor advised only for adenoidectomy. Both the doctors advised for use of hearing aids if the hearing loss interferes with the normal functioning. He is already detected with left kidney non-functional (2%) while the urine reflux is found in both the tracts. He is on medications since his birtsh due to one illness or others. Since October 2011 (since kidney problem was detected), he is continuously on antibiotics named Furanit (3 months), Taxim O (4 months) and now on Septron Kid.
Kindly suggest me what should I do in such situation? Should adenoidectomy be performed? Or can it be treated with medications?
