How much do breast implants cost?

Is there a diference in cost between silicon and saline implants? I'm considering breast augmentation and want to know my options.

There is a difference in cost... usually the new silicone/cohesive gel (called "gummy bear implants" in the US) are more expensive and have only recently been approved for use by the FDA in the US. I have these new implants myself. They were placed 7 years ago in Brazil. I have worked with lots of plastic surgeons and they all consider them far superior to saline and actually safer. They do not leak yet saline does! Saline implants gradually leak over time and far more rippling occurs with them than with silicone. Do your research, for sure.

Hi Daisy09. There is a cost difference between saline and silicone implants however, cost should not be your largest factor for breast augmentation. Costs will always vary. Safety, your body dimensions, and a doctor's medical opinion are all important factors. Do your research and visit many board-certified surgeons before you make an educated decision. Good luck.

I highly recommend you to have your breast augmentation with silicone/cohesive gel.
In the 80 countries where silicone implants are available, they are used in approximately 90-95% of implant operations. There are much better than saline implants.
It's true what Cristina says "Saline implants gradually leak over time and far more rippling occurs with them than with silicone".
I underwent a breast implants surgery in Bolivia this year (with silicone implants of course!! and I am very happy with my new boobs!! The surgery costed me $2900. This is the price for an All inclusive package that Includes the procedure, implants, clinic, hotel, transportation..everything. It's not an expensive surgery in South America.

My recommendation would be cohesive silicone gel breast implants that are the latest in implant technology. These devices have been used since the 1990’s in some areas of the world. Cohesive implants offer a balance of potentially good and bad features, depending on the preferences of the recipient. It is important to discuss these implant characteristics with your cosmetic surgeon, to determine if cohesive implants are the right choice for augmenting your breasts.

Breast implant costs will range per demographic and saline vs silicone.  Silicone will run you at least $750 more.

Hi Daisy,

Breast implant cost will depend on the brand and type of material used. Breast Implant like Mentor, Mcghann, Silimed and Eurosilicon are good quality implant that is composed of an out silicon shell and contain either saline or cohesive silicon gel. These implant cost roughly USD$ 600 to 1000 dollars.

So package for breast augmentation will depend on the type of breast implant that patients would like to have. This ranges from USD$ 3,000 to 4,000 dollars in the Philippines.

Hope this help with your concern, regards.
