How is teeth whitening after braces?

My 14 year old daughter is due to have her track braces removed next month and she's worried about any discoloration to the teeth. Is there likely to be great discoloration where the braces have been and if so, would it be harmful for her teeth if we scheduled laser teeth whitening for the day of her braces removal?

The first thing she needs to do after having her braces removed is to have a thorough cleaning to remove all the glue that was holding the braces on. Sometimes, the cleaning will need to be done in two parts to ensure everything is removed. Then, she should wait a few days after the cleaning has been completed before proceeding with the whitening. This will allow the teeth to be less sensitive and the gum tissue to heal. If she is under 16, she should not have the laser whitening. She can opt for tray whitening. If she is over 16, she would need parental consent to do the laser whitening. Hope this helps!
