Can dental implants replace molars - Dental Care (Dentistry)

Can dental implants replace molars

I've recently moved to a new city and don't yet have a dentist here so some advice would be great. Two years ago I had a dental implant with a crown fitted to replace a front tooth. After an accident I have three teeth missing at the back of my mouth - molars?? - and I'm not sure if dental implants would be able to replace these as well or if dental implants are only used for teeth that are visible? Can anyone advise on what treatment I should be considering?

Dental implants can replace any of the teeth, either in the back or front. The only routine time a dental implant would not be a recommended form of treatment is to replace wisdom teeth which are not needed in the mouth.

Dental implants at the back of the mouth would be attached to crowns in the same way as front teeth: Dental crowns are attached on the abutment which is attached into the implant (artificial root in the bone). The abutment supports the dental crown which is cemented on permanently.

Dental implants are currently the best solution for missing teeth. Dental implants can replace back teeth as well as front teeth. However, in case of back teeth it is also possible to use dental implants with a prosthetic bridge as an alternative treatment. We recommend to attach crowns on dental implants also on back teeth not only because of aesthetic reasons but also because of keeping a correct occlusion, which is very important for all the teeth.

Prague was where I had my implants in Feb, combining the trip with a week stay for our anniversary. The dental work took 2 days total and there was minimal bruising after, in fact on the photographs you cant see at all. .would thoroughly recommend the trip it was totally worth it, especially with the money saved on dental work paying for the vacation week.

Hi Rebecca - my husband had implants at the back of his mouth and he'd thoroughly recommend them because he finds it so much easier to eat properly again. He had titanium implants with porcelain crowns at a dentist in Costa Rica when we were on holiday...can't remember the clinic name but the total cost was about $2000 lower than we'd been quoted at home.

Dental implants are the best solutions for the missing molar teeth. Porcelain crowns are attached over implants which means the dental implants will look and feel like your own back teeth. Using dental implants prevents cutting healthy teeth or using a partial denture - dental implants are a complete tooth replacement.
