Dead back top tooth now tender in the gum only above that tooth. - Dental Care (Dentistry)

Dead back top tooth now tender in the gum only above that tooth.

I had the first stage of a root canal done in January, however I did not have time to get the rest completed as I was leaving for overseas, I will not be back home in Australia until end of September and I am wondering if I need to get this looked out/have the tooth out?? The gum has only been sore as of the last few days and I only notice it when brushing my teeth but I am worried about getting an infection in it passed on to my other teeth or my jaw? I am in Sweden until the middle of June before other travels so I guess anything I need to do I need to sort out very soon.. Ok thanks!
