Am I too old for a facelift? - Plastic Surgery

Am I too old for a facelift?

I'm 73 years old and in good health. I go to the gym regularly and keep myself in shape but my face gives away my age. Am I too old to be considering a facelift?

Nowadays, Plastic and Aesthetic surgery offer patients the most modern procedure in face rejuvenation, the MACS LIFT. This surgery option is very safe for almost all ages, due to the fact that it is performed with local anesthesia and sedation, and it offers the best results with the less invasive technique consisting in two incisions  of 5 Cm near the ears, which are in most cases almost invisible after three months.  Of course, a healthy life style, exercise, avoiding smoking and controlling drinking habits, improve the body capacity to heal and shorten the recovery time.

Face lift surgery, is a surgical procedure that will remove the excess and inelastic skin of the face particularly at the cheek and neck area and re-suspend the soft tissue. This will soften or make your deep nasolabial line shallower, enhance the definition of the jaw line, improve the volume of your cheek area, smoothen the neck area and create a good angle between your neck and jaw. This procedure can be performed under local anesthesia or patient may be sedated during the procedure for more comfort. Patients are advise that there will be swelling and some bruising after the surgery for 3 days and start to subside on the 4th day. On the average, your face is socially presentable by the 7th to 10 day after the surgery since most of the swelling had subside. Sutures are removed on the 5th and 9th day after surgery.

Face lift can be performed to any patient as long as they are in good physical health. However, patients more than 45 y/o will need thorough evaluation like lab test and medical evaluation with clearance depending on the general medical condition.

Hope this will help, regards
